Study Gymnastics Coaching for your HSC!

January 11, 2017

Are you an aspiring young coach about to commence your final years of high school? Unsure of what subjects to choose? Why not select Gymnastics Coaching?

Gymnastics NSW would like to encourage all up-and-coming junior coaches and/or athletes to consider a School-based Traineeship. This unique opportunity allows students (usually in Years 11 and 12) to participate in training and work, as paid employees while completing senior schooling. The program is run in partnership with the Australian Training Company and provides students with opportunities to develop skills and knowledge relating to actual employment situations.

Traineeships are aimed at students who may desire a career in the Sport and Recreation Industry or related fields such as teaching, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or child care.

The course consists of a 2-year Certificate II in Sport Coaching, specialising in Gymnastics. The Traineeship will also count towards units for your Higher School Certificate. As a trainee you will be formally employed and paid by the Australian Training Company and complete on the job training with your local gymnastics centre. With only a minimum of 7.5 hours coaching a week it’s easy for students to undertake, on top of their current workload!

Clubs who choose to use this fantastic program are also eligible for all the benefits of the traineeship including incentive payments of up to $2,000 (Conditions apply)

If you’re at all interested, please check our website for details or contact either Jenny Rosman at the Australian Training Company on 97041513  or our Workforce Development Officer at  8116 4141to find out more
